What can I do

I have a series 3 Apple Watch I’ve used it for about 4-5 years and never got it wet today I went swimming with it but as I remember the Apple Watch is water resistant?or water proof not to sure but it was able to handle the water submerging after about 2 hours I dried it off and put it back on when I went to use it suddenly the screen was glitching and un responsive I forced turned on the watch and now when I charge it the apple logo appears and disappears while getting warm was my watch damaged by the water ? Please help
