Google Safari not working

i can’t seem to use Google as a search engine on my safari browser. Other search engines like Bing work just fine. Tried clearing History and Website data but to no avail. Has anyone else encountered this issue with a fix?

thanks in advance.

I understand you selected Google in your iPhone's Settings > Safari > Search Engine.

Then, when you type something in Safari's URL field, describe what happens. I assume you are not seeing "Google Search" as in the example shown below:

What do you see instead?

Hi John.

So I had pretty much given up on Safari after continuous phone restarts and I wasn’t ready to reset my phone for 1 app.

funny enough, I tried searching on it a few times and at one point Google started working in Safari again (albeit very slowly).

Note that I hadn’t really done anything up to that point.

So it’s a real mystery to me how the problem just solved itself.

Thanks for reaching out!
