iPhone XS won't "release" deleted data (storage full)

I deleted over 6GB of storage but it isn't being restored to my iPhone XS... it is still showing 63.3GB/64GB used after deleting nearly 7GB of storage (the Music app, which I literally never use, and 6++GB of data; i.e. all the songs that were in the app).

I also deleted about 2800 photos (fully).

I have done a hard restart (3x, once after the photos deletion and once after the Music app deletion, plus once after seeing still too much data, for good measure). How long does it take before the system stops over-caching my data? I do not want to have to do a factory reset if at all possible.

Thanks for your reply, @bryanr14, my iOS is indeed up-to-date with v 15.5. In the end, the problem was solved by time. After a couple of days, my storage was restored and I am now showing those not-quite-7GB as available.

I appreciate your suggestion.
