I cannot be add to an iPhone group chat for some reason when someone tries to add me to a iPhone group chat it says that my phone is not a iPhone

Do you have iMessage set up on the iPhone? You'll turn on iMessage by going to Settings > Messages. Let us know if this is turned on.

Thank you for confirming. To isolate the issue further, if you go to Settings > Messages, do you see the option to enable MMS Messaging or Group Messaging? If not, your carrier may to support this feature. We would also recommend the steps in the following article that can also help:

I’ve had this phone for almost 4 years now, I did change my phone number and switched over to a new carrier. Maybe it has something to do with the carrier?
