My new airpods pro will not pair to my 13pro max - why? and how do I fix that?

Have you tried following the recommened steps ?
Check them here : Connect your AirPods and AirPods Pro to your iPhone - Apple Support
Also make sure your bluetooth is on and that the AirPods have enough power.
You should see a small green light when you open them.
