Apple Notes radio buttons not working properly...

The feature in the notes app under macOS Monterey 12.4, where one can create lists with radio buttons, which can be checked off when the item is complete, is not functioning properly. Most often, when I click the radio button, it removes the radio button entirely and moves the item to the end of the previous line. I have to then hit CMD-Z to undo and try clicking the radio button again. Eventually, I'm able to get it to respond and fill in, which causes the item to go to the top of the completed items at the bottom of the list (which is odd...but I can live with that).

Has anyone found a fix?
