Why won't my USB SuperDrive play some of my older movies on my 2020 MacBook Pro?

movies won't play on MacBook pro apple tv app All of sudden when I got a new MacBook Pro and transferred all my files from old mac to new mac, none of my movies or tv shows will play on the apple tv app. My home movies play fine.

Does it play anything? If not, connect it directly to your Mac. Use a simple passthrough adapter if you need one but not a hub or dock.

If it just doesn't play the old movies, you may not be in the correct DVD region.

Change your DVD drive region in DVD Player on Mac - Apple Support

Or the disks could be dirty or damaged
