Disk Utility password

I forgot the password to my disk utility password protected folder. How do i reset it or get it back or remove it? Or do something about it.

Hi rohin428,

You will need to type in the correct password to get access to that disk In Disk Utility. If you've forgotten the password and can't remember it, then you won't be able to access that until you do remember.

If you'd like, you can read more here about encrypting in Disk Utility here: Encrypt and protect a storage device with a password in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

If you want to use that disk/device for something else, you may have to erase the content to try to remove the password. This will delete all the content in that disk though: Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Take care.
