Invalid Phone Number (10-digits)

All my phone numbers are store with their international country code (e.g. (+1)) so my iPhone know how to call people when I'm out of the country. When I try to use Apply Pay it barfs saying only a10-digit number is valid. When I remove the (+1) it works. Apple Pay should be smart enough to handle country codes (it's just software)! Please don't respond with latest iOS update, etc. as I'm at the latest and this issue is across all my Apple devices (oPhone, iPad and MacBook).

Yes. The problem is all my phone numbers are in the format +cc (xxx) xxx-xxxx (mine being +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx) and Apple Pay claims its an invalid phone number because its no 10 digits ((xxx) xxx-xxxx). I should also note that this only [appears to] happens when using Apple Pay on websites that support Apple Pay. I don't recall is happening while using Apple Pay at a point of sale device.
