Apple Pay can be compromised!

I had a few transactions in the middle of the night 1:54am 3 came through as shopping with actual people’s names. Same total. I thought I lost my wallet. But when I went to look for my keys to go to store when it opened there’s my wallet! Now when I text AppleCard to dispute transactions only 1 was pending the others declined as suspicious. They also used my bank debit card. So if I have my wallet and all cards are with me and my bank debit is linked to Apple Pay as default Apple Pay was in fact compromised. This is the only way they could access both cards. I have it set up to change security code on Apple Card and I won’t add my bank debit again. I don’t want to link my Apple Card either! I feel there’s no way of protection here! Per the questions from Apple Card specialist #5 suggests Apple Pay can definitely be compromised.

That's improbable as your wallet requires authentication to work. It's far more likely your credentials have been compromised for your bank and credit cards, or your Apple ID.

That's a coincidence and not proof that your wallet was compromised. It's far more likely that your credentials were compromised, or your bank, or a merchant with whom you do business.

All credit cards have a certain level of attempted theft.

Occasionally even my own AppleCard wallet - also with advanced fraud protection enabled - shows unknown transactions as well …

… although they usually also have a red “rejected” next to it.

Suggest that you thoroughly review everything about your account at https://appleid.apple.com/ paying particular attention to anything “unknown” … especially your “Trusted Devices” and “Trusted Numbers.”

Yes, I edited my post after a re-read of your OP.

A regular review of https://appleid.apple.com/ is always a wise effort.

Lastly … DON’T SHARE YOUR PASSCODE w/ anyone!!! When passcode knowledge is combined with physical access to your device … a lot of nefarious acts are enabled.

And now more information so it may not be Apple Pay but Card as someone else whom used a card same merchant had suspicious activity on their account. Ugh 😑

We believe this merchant may have scanned our cards. I’ve never had that happen before.
