Apple Pay-Original card number is shared with the merchant instead of Device account number

With some merchants when Apple Pay is used the merchant or payment processor receives original card number instead of device account number. I believed Apple Pay is used for privacy where your original card number is not shared with the payment processor. The last time I checked with Apple support it was an open issue. Has anyone experienced this behavior?

Some of the merchants include that receives original card number instead of device account number are 'Anker by Soundcore', 'Westernunion'.

Thanks. I'm aware of what is provided like address, email or put it simply it's AVS(Address Verification check). But once you look at the receipt or invoice once the payment is authorized I see last 4 of my original card number instead of device account number.

This should be the ideal scenario:

"Like with in-store payments, Apple sends your Device Account Number to the app or website along with the transaction-specific dynamic security code. Neither Apple nor your device sends your actual payment card number to the app."

But as I pointed above with some merchants last 4 of original card number is seen on the receipt. So, the ask is if anyone knew how this can be corrected.

Information Shared When You Make a Payment

When you begin a payment within an app, on the web, or within Apple Messages for Business using Apple Pay, to enable tax and shipping cost calculation your zip code, postal code, or other equivalent information is provided to the app, website, or merchant. After you authorize the payment, other information requested by the merchant, such as a device- or merchant-specific account number, your shipping address, or email address, is also provided. The card number from your credit, debit, or prepaid card is not provided when you use Apple Pay.

There is nothing to correct. Your card number isn’t even stored on your device. If a merchant shows the last 4 digits of your real card it’s likely detokenized information being passed from your bank to the merchant.
