Apple started billing me on a credit card I didn't give them or authorize

Like many people, I got forced into paying Apple for extra cloud storage. I opted into the $.99/month plan. About a month ago, my purse got stolen so I canceled all of my credit and debit cards and had the replaced. I was getting nastygrams from Apple that my storage hadn't been paid for. That was the least of my worries in trying to get everything straightened out after the theft, so I decided to ignore it and deal with it when life was less busy.

Today I got an email notice that I had been billed for storage. The receipt had the last 4 digits of one of my new credit cards. The problem is.....I never gave that card number to Apple, nor did I authorize them to use it. I do use Google Chrome as my laptop browser and I do store credit card numbers in Chrome, but I don't do that on my phone, and I never added this card to Apple Pay, or under my Apple ID, or in any other form on my phone. WTF?? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm pretty upset. It's NOT the .99 cents, it's the fact that this happened without permission from me.

I still can't believe it. Anyone else experience this????

You need to downgrade your iCloud subscription too.

Check -> Go to -> Settings -> your name -> iCloud -> if you see 50 GB (or 200 GB or 2 TB) then you have an iCloud subscription.

If you have an iCloud subscription, you will receive a monthly bill from Apple, check your email box.

The subscription runs as long as you don't downgrade.

You cannot deactivate/pause the subscription for 1 month, but you can downgrade to free (5 GB).

If you have upgraded / downgrade iCloud storage, it would take about 1 to 3 business days in order to process.

I'm aware of what Apple subscriptions are, and indeed, I HAD a subscription. What I'm saying is that I did not replace the stolen credit card number with a new one for Apple to bill, and somehow they are billing me anyway.

As stated in my post, it's not the $.99 cents, it's that somehow Apple hijacked a credit card number and took the money.
