Apple TV Family sharing not working; still acting as if it's my husband's apple ID and not mine

My husband has 2 phones with his apple ID. I am now using his second one and using my own apple ID with family sharing that my husband set up. Everything with Family sharing is working fine except for the Apple TV and Music, my phone is acting as if it's still under my husband's apple ID instead of mine, but without any of his movie or music purchases. My phone is iPhone 8, his phone is iPhone 11. We have a spare iPhone 7 that we let our daughter use sometime. I experimented with the spare iPhone7 using my apple ID and family share with my husband and the Apple TV and Music works just fine on the iPhone7 for family sharing, but not my iPhone 8. I have done all of the tips in If you can't find your family's shared content - Apple Support , and it's still not working. Please help?

Hey there IstiApple,

It's possible your husband's Apple ID might still be signed in, especially if the device was not erased back to factory settings.

You'll want to check the following locations to ensure your Apple ID is signed in:

  • Settings > name > make sure your Apple ID is seen at the top
  • Settings > name > Media & Purchases > View Account > Apple ID

If your account is not signed in, you'll want to sign out of the incorrect account and sign in with your account next.

Should this persist after signing in with the correct account, continue with the steps under "If you still can't find shared content" in this resource: If you can't find your family's shared content - Apple Support

Take care!

Thank you for the reply!

Yes, I have done all you have suggested multiple times, and it's still not working.

However, today I found a work around:

iTunes Store app > ... more > Purchased > Under "Family Purchases", I selected my husband

> Music > find shared song I want, then download --> voila, it's in my music app now

> Movies > find shared Movie I want, then download --> voila, it's in my TV app now

> TV Shows > find shared TV Shows I want, then download --> voila, it's in my TV app now

My TV app still doesn't show the correct Family sharing, but at least I have access. It's good enough for now.

I hope this workaround I find out can help someone else.
