change email address for apple id
when I go to type in my current email it says that the email address is not available. but it is my email

If you've used this address in your ID as a contact address, or have used it in another ID, you won't be able to use it. You will need to remove it and wait for it to become available. This may take 30 days or possibly more - its not clear what the period is.
