I read the question regarding the Reminders app disappearing from a poster's iPhone in 2021. She/He went through the same steps with the same results I've had today, May 11, 2022. I can only open Reminders by going to the App Store and typing Reminders in. It gives me the option of opening the app which I can do, but after using it and closing the app, it's again not available as a visible app on my phone. How strange.

If the App Store gives you the "Open" option, that means that it is installed on your iPhone. Try going to the App Library (swipe left past your last home screen). From there you can touch and hold an app and slide it left back to the home screen.
