Monitoring level in Logic Pro

Thanks for your reply and apologies for my tardy response (work has been **** plus I’ve been trying to formulate a sensible reply).

I’m using the Apogee Element 24 into Genelec powered monitors.

After further fiddling around I’ve come to the conclusion that my problem is that I thought I didn’t really need to use the Apogee interface screen to really do anything once I’m in Logic. That I would control all my monitoring and levels, both into Logic for recording and to my speakers for monitoring, from within Logic. I’ve realised that’s probably misguided and that I need to use the Apogee interface in conjunction with Logic.

Basically I’m a little confused about the actual signal flow both into and out of Logic.

Further to that end, my sound engineer friend has been posing various questions to me and I find I’m unable to answer many of them with any confidence, particularly around input levels, their control, and how to monitor correctly.

So he’s given me a question to post which I will do separately to this one.

Thanks for that. Yes, that will definitely go straight onto my wish list of things I desire but can’t afford! It would be very convenient, that’s for certain.
