I am trying to add my macOS Big Sur (Version 11.5.2) to my text message forwarding, but it does not come up as an option when I look under Messages > Text Message Forwarding on my iPhone 12 (iOS 15.4.1). Do I need to download a certain update on my MacBook?

Hello ak1k021, On your iPhone is your Mac listed as a device under your Apple Id ? If it is not that could be why you don't see it under iPhone Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding. Also with your Mac on check on your iPhone in the "Find My" app to see if you Mac is listed under devices. All your devices need to be under the same Apple Id.
