HomePods not acting as speakers after reset

I have (2) 4k Apple TV’s and each has 2 homepod mini’s. All of a sudden the other day all the additional lights, motion sensors, and switches started showing ‘No Response’.

All items work on their native apps. Tried to remove from Homekit and reinstall them. All secondary items failed but Apple TV and Homepod mini’s did install. Tried to reconnect mini’s to be speakers and that continues to fail.

I have checked to see if any firmware updates are needed and all were up to date. I am currently running ios 15.4.1. It wasn’t until this update did I have any trouble.

any suggestions?

If you’re using them for Apple TV and it’s with that they are failing, restart your Apple TV(s) Make sure they are also on the latest software.

  • The best way to reset them is to do it by pressing the top method: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208244. Be sure to ungroup each stereo pair first before resetting. I find the removal option doesn’t always clear the Apple ID and it might be your iCloud account causing the issues. This will set them up again completely from scratch and reset the Apple TV AirPlay when you add to that.
  • Reboot your wifi router also.
  • Keep in mind all your devices need to be using the same network and all signed in with the same Apple ID. Try all the above and see if resolves
