Getting into my gmail account

In common with many other Mail providers, Google Mail now requires use of an App Specific Password to access IMAP or POP3 mailboxes using anything other than Google’s own Mail App.

If using the native Apple Mail App on your iPad to access your Google Mail, you will need to create a unique “App Specific” password from within your Google account. The App Specific password intentionally differs from your Google account password - and can only be used to access your Google Mail.

You can access your Gmail from the native Mail app, the Gmail app, or you can log into it from Safari or another web browser. Up to you. All you need is your email address and password.
