cannot confirm download of apps in apple app store on ipad

The confirm button for any apps on my new 2021 12.09 in iPad, my first apple product, is off the screen to the left upper corner and I cannot tap it confirm. This window pops up and tells me to double tap to confirm downoad. One answer said the apple app store did not require double tap but I am in the apple app store on the iPad at least the icon provide on start up from apple. How do I download my apps or get the screen to let me confirm?

You need to double tap the phisycal button on the edge of your iPad (not on the screen).
