A few months ago I changed my operating HD from my Imac to an external SSD. During a recent update of OS my IMAC has reverted back to a very slow onboard HD. How can I re-install the OS from my internal slow HD back to my external SSD
You need to specify the startup disk: System Preferences > Startup Disk. Likely the external disk was untouched.
If you wish to upgrade the external disk, be operating from it and start the upgrade process.
