Adding MP3-CD audiobook to my iTunes

I have a one-CD audiobook that I've tried to add to my library. I've uploaded it twice (it appeared) to my PC's iTunes, and then nothing's there! What do I need to do? I've never had this kind of problem with standard audiobook CDs I've checked out from the library, but this one was a gift to me. I want to do what I've done in the past: add to my computer, then sync with my phone. (Disclaimer: I'm not too tech-savvy....) Thanks in advance.
