AirPod Bluetooth disconnects after non use

I connect my AirPods to my iPhone 12. After a day or two of non use, when I go to use the AirPods, they will not connect to the phone. Each time I have to “forget” the airpods on the phone and reconnect them via Bluetooth. Help?

Troubleshooting AirPods and iPhone:

Start with a reset:

Go Here: Reset your AirPods - Apple Support

On your iPhone:

A. Disable, then Enable Bluetooth:

In Settings, try disabling Bluetooth, and then reenabling Bluetooth, seeing if that makes all the difference.

B. Reset All Network Settings to Default:

Example of items that will be reset: (Wi-Fi Passwords, VPN Connections, etc)

  1. Go To: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: Reset
  4. Tap: Reset Network Settings.
  5. Enter: [Your Passcode]
