Why is Google Chrome unavailable for the iMac on the App Store

I usually use Safari, but certain web sites work better with Chrome. I recently began using an iMac with Monterey 12.2. when I look through the App Store I see that Chrome is offered only for iPad and iPhone. Is there a problem? If I download Chrome from Google's play store will I have problems?
