A frame from later in my video appears at the very beginning as I edit and after I save the video. Once saved, that frame is the picture that appears vs. the actual beginning of my video. This never used to happen. How do I get rid of that?

First zoom into the timeline to check there is no errant frame. Next delete all generated render files in case there is a bad render. Do you still have the problem on export? Try just exporting the first 10 seconds or so. What is the first frame of video supposed to be? Is it black or something else? Is it video or a graphic?

Thank you so much Tom & Terry! I'm clearly not adept at Final Cut Pro and had no idea that a clip I thought I deleted from the timeline was still there until I kept Zooming In. I'm an actor (as you probably realized) and auditions have started to kick in. I'm so glad I won't have this problem again. Hooray!
What Tom is saying is that the first frame is just a single frame, shown by the Start of Project and End of clip indicators. If you zoom in far enough you will be able to see, select and delete this single frame in the timeline.
Keep zooming into the timeline via the menu or with the keyboard shortcut Command+= (command key and the equal key).
Thank you for your help, Tom. The first frame is me doing a specific action. It doesn't begin in black. And the problem frame is from 10 seconds in. It doesn't appear in the timeline at the beginning - only up in the edit window, when I highlight the video to edit, or even when I put the skimmer at the beginning of the video. When I put the skimmer at the beginning, the problem frame fills the edit window and has a reversed transparent L in the lower right hand corner. I wanted to trim the beginning and end of my video, so I highlighted the clip and used the arrows to drag and trim successfully. But when I did that, the split-screen in the edit window (sorry if that's not the right term for it) shows the problem frame on the left and (as it should) the footage being trimmed on the right. It used to show the beginning of the video on the left. Once it's rendered and I play the video on my desktop, it begins where it should, but the freezeframe that represents the video is the problem one, not the 1st frame from the video. I hope I'm making sense. Thanks again for your help.
I highlighted the video and then selected Zoom In, but I don't know if that means Zoom all the way in.
Here are some photos showing the beginning of the clip and where the skimmer is, the problem frame that appears in the edit window, and I included a full screen of what I see when I try to trim the beginning of the video.
When you trim the first shot in the timeline you should see black in the left side of the two up display.
The full screen viewer shows that the first shot is a single frame. Beginning of the project indicator on the left and the reverse L that it's the last frame of shot, a single frame.

You can take screenshots directly without having to go through your phone. Just press Command+Shift+3 for the whole screen, or Command+Shift+4 to stroke out an area.

Are you sure you zoomed in all the way into your timeline? If you've zoomed in all the way and the frame is not there, please post some screenshots showing the problem.
