My macbook (late 2009) is not booting up and I don’t know why..

Some noises, are often involved if power

is added; or none, if the hardware is inert.

Other screens may appear to give clues on status.

Reset the SMC:

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery - if it is user removable.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.


If there is any expansion seen of the case from where the battery would go on an all in one unit, if the battery is not removable, bring to an authorized service center to have the battery disconnected.
