No sync option in message app
Hello, my iphone 7 will not back up messages to the icloud. I have followed all steps to troubleshoot and discovered that there is NOT a sync option in the message app. Need help, please.

In Settings, tap your Apple ID banner at the top of the screen, then tap iCloud.
If messages is turned on then, like everything else sync'd to iCloud, it will not be backed up. Also any manual deletions of messages will be permanent.
If you want to back up messages, turn off the iCloud sync. You will have to restore the entire backup so take them daily
