Mac Pro mid 2012 factory reset

Hi I am trying to factory reset MacBook Pro mid 2012 model. When I press command R and want to restart, it is not taking to the disk utility page rather it is directly taking me to username and password of my computer. what else can I do to factory reset my MacBook Pro. Please help me.

Hi,

Instead of Command+r, try Shift+Option+Command+r.
