Siri suddenly stops working on MacBook Air?

I've recently gotten a new MacBook Air and so far the computer has been working great, but I've noticed that after about two hours of Siri working on my computer, the button in the menu bar stops working and holding down any of my key shortcuts doesn't work either. When I restart my computer Siri works again for another hour or two and then she stops responding again. Has anyone figured out a fix to this issue? I use Siri a lot in my day to day and it's annoying to have to keep restarting my computer. Thanks!

Hi bootleghotwheels,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having trouble with Siri on your Mac. We’re happy to provide some steps that may help.

To start, let’s make sure you’re running the latest macOS version: Update macOS on Mac

Next, try restarting your Mac in safe mode to see if that resolves the issue: How to use safe mode on your Mac

If the above doesn’t help, test to see if the issue is present in a different user account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Let us know the results.

Have a great day!
