Mini display port to HDMI problem.

Urgent and frustrating. When I connect my MacBook Pro (late 2013 13” ) to a DP-HDMI, my Mac screen just blinks but does not detect the monitor(Dell 24”) at all.

am using macOS Catalina

Tried a lot of online solution nothing is working.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Monitor not recognized MacBook Pro 2017 13 inch I have a 13 inch 2017 Macbook Pro running Mojave. I tried to attach an external monitor, it did not recognize it when plugged in. I have used the same monitor/cables combo successfully with this Macbook in the past but it did not work today. I tried "Detect Displays" in settings, putting it to sleep, tried all four ports, nothing works. The external hardware is good because I can attach it to a 13 inch 2018 Macbook Pro running the same Mojave and it recognizes the monitor just fine. Concluding that the problem is with the Macbook, I installed Monterey 12.4 (which doesnt seem to have a "Detect Displays" option in settings) and it still doesnt recognize the external monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HDMI not recognized by LG UP850 monitor 2018 mac mini running Monterey OS. LG UP850 4K monitor. Monitor will recognize USB-C connection but not HDMI connection. Yes I tried turning off/on both, plugging/unplugging in recommeneded order. The HDMI connection is a better connection which is I want to connect that way.

MacBook Pro 2013 has HDMI output, but does not have a [full size] DisplayPort output.

Most adapters from DisplayPort TO HDMI work only on DisplayPort from the computer to HDMI on the display. they do not work in reverse.

why are you not using just an HDMI - HDMI cable?
