I upgraded my iPhone and I need to clear the data on my old phone to be able to trade it in. My photos are on iCloud, and I want to keep them there. How can I delete (clear my old phone) and keep my photos in iCloud without deleting them?

Sign out of iCloud on the iPhone. This disconnects it from your account and then you are free to prepare it for disposal - as discussed here.
