Hi Baffeled.

Try booting the Mac in Safe-Mode as described in this document and test to see if the same issue occurs, if not, restart in Normal-Mode and test again to see if the problem has been automatically repaired:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201262

A Safe-Mode boot may take up to ten minutes to reach your user desktop and will appear “laggy” to mouse and keyboard commands, this is normal when using Safe-Mode, please be patient!

If the Safe-Mode boot shows the same problem and after booting back into Normal-Mode there is no change then restart the Mac in Recovery-Mode and re-install the macOS.

Although reinstalling the OS in Recovery-Mode keeps your purchased apps and data intact there is always a small risk that the process may fail and leave the hard disk unreadable, ensure you have a valid Time Machine backup on a dedicated external drive to be able to restore your valuable data and apps from if forced to perform a hard disk wipe and full re-install of the macOS.

This document describes the start-up key combinations for Safe-Mode and Recovery-Mode:

This document describes how to use Recovery-Mode:
