Try opening Calendar after starting up in Safe Mode. How to use safe mode on your Mac outlines the steps for Safe Mode.

If the above doesn’t work, and if there is an add-on cleaner app, add-on security app, add-on VPN app, or similar apps, remove it all per the vendors’ instructions, restart, and try again.
