Microphone is silent in safari

Hello!

I'm using the latest available safari 15.2 on the latest available macos 12.1

But safari can't handle the microphone. It's kind of working, but it's almost silent, I have to shout realy loud to make anybody hear me. It's not the issue of some particular site, it reproduces on every site with mic access.

The mic volume level is normal in the macos settings. Any other application (e.g. Chrome or MS Edge) works fine with the mic. I've tried to disable every extension I use in safari, but it didn't help.

Any fixes for this?

P.S. I've also tried different microphones (built-in, from airpods and from other bluetooth headphones), result is the same.

To get started, you've done some great troubleshooting already. To help with isolating the issue further, we'd like to have you try testing the issue in a new user account to see if the issue occurring in just your user account, or if the issue is system wide. If the issue doesn't occur while in a new user account, we'd recommend removing login items for your main account in the User & Groups preferences and test the issue again.
