Hi,
Iv had my Imac off for a few days and now turning it on, it will not boot up.
The keyboard is mac and its wired but when pressing any buttons it does not do anything.
I can't even get into recovery mode or do a full hard reset.
Please can anyone help. Iv tried to. Power it down manually in hope it will boot up but the boot up screen gets to the end and then freezes.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Thank you for your reply. It's much appreciated.
I'm afraid I can't do any of the steps, as the keyboard is not responding when the Imac is starting up. Iv tried 3 different keyboards including Windows keyboard. I know the keyboards are not an issue as I have tried them with a friend's machine.
But the boot screen goes all the way to the end and just sits there. Iv even left it running for a few days thinking it might need some extra time but this does not result in anything.
Worried I would loose all my work.
I have unplugged everything from the back too to make sure it's not interfering with the likes of a printer, external drive and so on.
Any help on next steps is much appreciated.
