Video files no longer play normally in QuickTime

My video files (mp4, m4v, mov, etc) will no longer play in regular time in QuickTime or Apple TV. The videos play at a super fast speed without any sound for about 10 seconds before it stops, regardless of how long the video is or what file type.

I've been trying to play a video on my apple TV, I noticed a video lag of around 1-2 seconds (noticeable enough to be annoying) I played it via tunes on my iMac, same issue, and the same through Quicktime player. I decided to 'fix' this by opening it in Premier Pro. I played it back and there was nothing to do the audio and video synced perfectly. any ideas what's happening? Using iMac 27inch 5k Retinal Display running macOS Mojave 10.14.5 iTunes Version 12.9.5.5 Quicktime Player 10.5 and 3rd gen Apple TV 7.3 Strangely not all files are affected, I may just have to watch it via Premier Pro, not an idea solution but it's all I can do atm, I may download VLC and give that a go. any help would be appreciated Best Simon

Videos in Music/Apple TV After updating to Monterey 12.3.1 (21E258), starting a Video/Movie on Apple Music/Apple TV on my iMac (Late 2015, AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 GB), in the window there are only many coloured (mostly green) moving pixels. In fullscreen too. It seems there is a problem with the Codec?! Any Solution for this? Kind regards

Video loses sync with audio I used to watch videos via iTunes Homeshare and AppleTV but for some reason when watching a movie the audio starts popping and clicking and then goes out of sync. Eventually all audio stops and sometimes the movie stops too. How can we fix the issue? I've tried every Google search recommendation with no luck. (Resetting AppleTV, using the Audio-Sync correction, updating iTunes, etc... but nothing works)

Try booting into safe mode, and try playing videos there. See if it continues:

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

To get out of safe mode, restart, and don't press anything on the keyboard.

You can try to install an application called VLC media player, and see if it helps. It's free, so don't worry. It can play audio and video files.

If it still doesn't work, Try to contact apple support?
