Cellular Apple Watch

I would like to make / receive phone calls only with the Apple Watch. I don’t want my iPhone to interfere with phone calls.

is this possible?

Thank you,

If you have the cellular version of the watch then you can leave your phone at home but you still need to interact with the phone because the E-sim in the cellular watch uses the phone's number to make calls and send texts.

The watch won't operate as a standalone device.
