found AirPods

I found a pair of AirPods in their case, but they are not in lost mode. Is there any other way to return them to their owners?

Post notices around where you found them, or take them to the police, or if applicable, the Lost & Found department of the facility where you found them.

Unable to return found airpods I found 2 Airpod Pros and their case, all scattered around at the side of a road. I'm guessing someone riding a bike dropped them. I brought them home and cleaned them up, and my wife's iPhone started notifying her that the owner of the Airpods can see their location. We waited a while, and I posted about them in Lost & Found on Craigslist. They weren't found at a mall or someplace that has a lost and found, so there is no way to locate the owner.
