I have an old Mac mini (Macmini6,1) running 10.13. I'd like to upgrade to 10.15 Catalina which I believe is the last OS supported by this machine. However, it's not appearing in the 'Updates' tab in App Store. How can I go about upgrading?
OK. Apple's page at https://www.apple.com/za/macos/how-to-upgrade/ says "If you’re running High Sierra (10.13), Sierra (10.12) or El Capitan (10.11), upgrade to macOS Catalina from the App Store", so that's where I looked. I know that newer versions of MacOS prompt for OS updates in System Preferences->Software Update but that's not present in 10.13.
Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on Catalina. It and other full-version upgrades won't appear in the Updates list.

Thanks for the link. For whatever reason, searching for "Catalina" (or variants like "macOS Catalina") doesn't bring up the OS installer in my App Store search - instead, I get two seemingly random utilities. Odd.
You have to click on the link using Safari.
Yup, that's what I did. Just thought it was odd that the Catalina installer doesn't show up in the App Store (which Apple states that it should). Anyhow, issue is resolved. Thanks.
That's normal. Only the current version of macOS shows up.

Although, one could argue that maybe Apple should take that page down since it's no longer applicable? And maybe also keep *some* in-built mechanism for updating the OS?
