I have may own music collection on my iPod, how can I play this with the HomePod mini?

If it is an iPod touch see Use AirPlay to stream audio - Apple Support. Otherwise you need to get your media into an iTunes or Music library on your computer, then you can AirPlay from there. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community if required.
