Firstly, Apple does not have a product called iWatch but they do have a product called the Apple Watch.

You haven't included any detail about the model of your Apple Watch, which mades it hard to diagnose your problem.

Apple has a User Guide which states: To use your Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 8, you need to pair your Apple Watch with an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 15 or later.

This also apples to an Apple Watch with Watch OS 6 or later (with and iPhone which has iOS 13 or later). Your question suggests that you have a new Apple Watch with the current Watch OS version 8. This would mean that an iPhone 6 will not do the job.
