Poor Watch touch sensitivity

Hello!

I got my watch (SE) last week brand new, and I’ve noticed the touch sensitivity is really poor. Sometimes it takes me 4-6 taps (light/hard taps, quick/slow taps) before it registers my touch. Sometimes I give up on what I was trying to do as it just won’t register my touch.

Is there a way to fix this, or is my watch faulty and I should exchange it? It’s very frustrating.

thanks!

If you are experiencing that much difficulty with touch, I would first try restarting the Watch. Power it off and back on again. If that does not help, the next step is a force restart. Press and hold the Digital Crown and power button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the Watch restarts, test. If you still experience problems, then use the Get Support link at the top of the page here to contact Apple Support. Alternatively, if you have an Apple Store close by, make a Genius Bar appointment and bring it in for examination. Demonstrate the problem for the Genius. They will examine the device and explain your options. See this for making an appointment, Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
