Spotlight Not Searching External Drives

I am no longer able to search Google Drive for files I need since updating to macOS Monterey.

Re-indexing not working by adding the Drive to System Pref => Spotlight ==> Privacy and removing it as per the online instructions.

How can this be turned back on? As I have to use Drive as part of my business agreements for file storage.

Can Spotlight search an NTFS drive? I am running Mojave on an iMac. I have an 8TB NTFS for Mac drive. Version is 15.5.90 is the newest version available. Spotlight searching is not accurate. I am missing files in the search that I know are in there. The mounting window has a check box that says "enable spotlight indexing," but when I check the box, it eventually unchecks it by itself. I have tried placing the drive in the spotlight "do not search" box, then removing it, but results are still inaccurate. Any suggestions?

Spotlight Indexing Problem Cant Be Temporarily Solved Spotlight searches on my mac (Monterey 12.0.1) does not bring many files I am looking for. Even the ones I use everyday. Community forum recommends: "Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching. Or click the add button (+) and select the disk or folder to add. From the same list of locations, select the disk or folder that you just added. Then click the remove button (–) to remove it from the list." This helps at first but in a short while same problem occurs. I have to do this everyday. Does anybody have a temporary solution to spotlight indexing problem? Thank you!

First, if you are still on 12.0.1 try updating to 12.1 which was released 12/13/2021. After update give it time to reindex drives.
