MFA (two-factor authentication) for Macbook login account

I'm looking for an MFA solution for an individual user, just something simple and easy that prompts with a text or push notification when logging in to the local account on a Macbook.

My organization uses DUO, however their software is not compatible with the new M1 ARM chip in this person's Macbook.

I don't want any services that require me to set up a "corporate" type environment to manage a lot of users, I just need a quick and easy solution for one person.

Any suggestions?

Is there ever a time you want to protect yourself when you're not using something? The idea always seems to me to be protection because you're using the internet or whatever.

What would you want to protect if you 're not doing anything?

It kind of like you're saying you want fight insurance but are not flying.

If you're needing to keep your physical possessions safe, I'm not at all sure you can do that with a program. It's just too easy for a laptop to grow legs and walk away. Are you talking about data security after a theft or loss? Encrypted data maybe?

It's a requirement at our company due to an insurance policy, so any rational arguments are irrelevant to insurance companies.

Back to the original question - anyone have an answer?

The closest software I have found is Twilio Authy. It can do MFA for computer logins on Windows, but I can't find any example or instructions regarding how to set it up on a Mac.

ku4hx, thanks for trying to help. (?) I mentioned Twilio Authy in my last post, and had it installed two days ago. It can protect Windows logins, but seemingly not Mac logins. But maybe I just haven't figured it out yet. Therefore I asked if anyone had used it in this way.

And I am the SysAdmin for my company. I've installed Duo for 99% of my users. Duo is not compatible with M1 ARM chips though. That's why I've asked if anyone has used a software that can do this for an individual user.
