My MacBookPro wont complete its reboot.

My MacBookPro will start rebooting. The grey screen appears with the Apple symbol in the middle of the screen. The process white line immediately underneath gets to about 75% complete and then the computer dies. I have repeated this a few times with same result. Is there anything I can do to get to the Log In screen???
