Is Wifi calling on GPS ONLY (no cellular) model Apple Watch 7 possible?

Is it possible for a non cellular model of the Apple Watch 7 to make calls on wifi WITHOUT the iPhone being present or on?

Articles on the apple website suggest that it is, but it is not clear, I have searched and haven’t managed to find a definitive answer to this questions, even apple support have given an unclear answer, and in fairness have conceded that the information is not clear.

The scenario I would need is that if you have left home without your phone, but the watch is logged in with the same Apple ID, you can receive and make calls if connected to wifi.

please help!

Your phone would need to be turned on.

Your watch would need to be connected to a known Wifi

You carrier must support Wifi calling and you must have it toggle on on your iPhone and watch.

The phone does not need to be with you but needs to be on.
