Partition questions Big Sur

I have a back up disk with 2 partitions they get backed up to Time Machine. I want to change the sizes of the partitions, when I go to do this it only allows me to make the 3TB smaller but adds another partition, I just want to do the following

Partions (2)

1. 5TB

2.3TB

I need to change the sizes to

  1. 6 TB
  2. 2 TB

Don't want to ADD ANY partions.

Any help?

You can only resize a partition into free space behind a partition.

There is no way to do what you want without moving the second partition data to another drive, delete that partition, the expand the first into the free space created. Then, create the second in the remaining free space
