USB DVD drive with 2020 Mac mini

Anyone else having trouble using a usb dvd drive with 2020 Mac mini?

If you are using the Apple Super Drive optical drive, make sure you are connecting it directly to the computer's USB port, not through a dock or hub. If you have already done that, then try rotating the USB-C/USB-A adapter 180º in the port. (turn it over).
