Google Drive does not launch after install on Mac OS Monterey

Nothing happens after installation and launch of Google Drive.

Tried to launch the App from Terminal to check the process and got the following message:

Unable to create user config directory at /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS: AUTH_ERROR.

The process is displayed in Activity Monitor but nothing happens. No icon on Menu Bar and no prompt to log on Google Account.

Uninstalled (AppCleaner) and re-installed multiples times. Same result.

Config:

macOS Monterey 12.0.1

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

I figured it out, it indeed is some kind of permission error where your user account doesn't allow Google Drive to create the folder `DriveFS` in your user application support directory `/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS`. For me manually creating the folder and then rerunning the application worked. This saved me too.

I had problems with Google Drive since MacOS Big Sur. I quit and forgot all about it.

Now, I needed Google Drive again and decide to install and run it to face the same problem: the app wouldn't launch.

I got the problem solved by creating the folder `DriveFS` in my user application support directory `/Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS`.

Thank you
