The sidebar is not hiding. Earlier when I tapped on the screen, everything would go and it would become a proper full screen pdf display, but now it’s annoying like this and takes up space in the screen making it hard to read and so have to zoom and stuff. This happened after updating to iPadOS 15 I believe. Earlier it was all fine

You are quite correct. When reviewing PDF Documents in the native Files App, the page sidebar (now moved from the right-hand edge to the left) cannot be suppressed.
